Over the next three weeks, we join forces with opera singer Jared Holt to premiere a new song cycle, In Memoriam, by New Zealand composer Janet Jennings - settings of poems by poet and soldier Edward Thomas, who was killed in the Battle of Arras in 1917.

In August and September we’ll be touring the country, from Auckland to Invercargill, showcasing groundbreaking works of the string quartet repertoire, including music by Mozart, Beethoven, Smetana, Debussy, Webern and New Zealand’s own John Psathas.

All four NZSQ members star as soloists during the month of June, in performances of Mendelssohn’s much-loved Violin Concerto with the Wairua Sinfonietta, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with St Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra and Dvořák’s popular Cello Concerto with Wellington Chamber Orchestra.
